AIA-accredited presentation on the topic of Acoustic Standards for School Design

With conferences being cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many architects are faced with hardship trying to fulfill their AIA continuing education learning unit requirements. Let us help you!

We are pleased to offer an AIA-accredited presentation on the topic of Acoustic Standards for School Design. The presentation is approved to earn 1 AIA HSW credit for participants. This topic was originally presented at a Connecticut AIA-sponsored HSW Symposium event focused on acoustics. While pandemic restrictions are in place, I’m able to present this topic as a live webinar in a convenient online format for your team.

In this presentation, I identify the various acoustic codes and design standards that pertain to schools and other learning facilities. You will learn the scientific rationale for these standards, and how they relate to the wellbeing of students and other building occupants. We will outline the differences between these standards, and what these differences mean for the design and construction process.  Practical design approaches to achieve the acoustic performance goals for each standard will also be discussed. I will share my thoughts and insight on how COVID-19 may influence current and future school design and the impact these changes may have on acoustics and aural health.

If you would like to participate, please send an email to Aline Halle at ahalle@ad-ny.com as soon as possible and we will schedule a webinar presentation for your group. We look forward to talking acoustics with you!

Yours truly,
