Jake Friesen, AIA, Senior Associate

Jake brings over 20-years of experience in a wide variety of projects in which the acoustical environment is a primary consideration.  As a registered architect, his expertise in the built environment including construction and project management in real estate development has taken him from the Mid-West to the Southeast, and most recently to Southern California.

Jake is able to see the big picture from a “sound” standpoint during the design phases of a building project and to attend to the necessary details during the documentation phase. His extensive day-to-day construction experience assures the acoustical details are constructed as intended resulting in a cost-effective comprehensive acoustical design.

His background as a performing vocalist brings an overlay of understanding and practicality to his involvement with broadcast studio projects, as well as performing arts venues.

Living in the greater Los Angeles area, Jake provides Acoustic Distinctions’ boots-on-the-ground presence on the West Coast.

He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Acoustical Society of America.

He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas.
